The Summerville, S.C. branch of Atlantic Packaging has achieved ISO 9001:2015 registration for sales and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies.
Atlantic has developed an ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) with a common quality manual, quality policy and procedures for all business units. It is being further developed and formalized at various Atlantic locations. Some have achieved ISO registration and implementation will be planned at additional sites in the future.
The Summerville ISO 9001:2015 audit was conducted in April, 2019 with the auditor’s recommendation for certification. Certification was officially received on July 1, 2019. The scope of the registration is defined as:
“The sale, procurement, receipt, warehousing, and delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies for a broad base of manufacturing and service industries.”
ISO certification is an internationally recognized standard that promotes a high level of trust by customers in the processes performed at the facility. The QMS systems established for this purpose improve efficiency, accountability, response time, team morale, and customer experience. Atlantic uses the processes and quality data gathered from the QMS to continue to improve and enhance customer satisfaction.
John Childers, member of Atlantic’s Summerville ISO management team remarked: “The ISO certification process has made us aware that the highest standard of quality is the only standard for quality.”
