Keep America Beautiful®, the nation’s leading community improvement nonprofit, has appointed Wes Carter, President of Atlantic Packaging, to its National Board of Directors.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Founded in 1953, Keep America Beautiful® inspires and educates people to take action every day to improve and beautify their communities. The organization works to end littering, improve recycling, and beautify America’s shared spaces.

Wes’ appointment reflects growing alignment between business leadership and environmental stewardship. He’s known for connecting corporate sustainability goals with real-world impact, from packaging optimization to large-scale waste reduction

“Wes is an innovator who understands both the urgency of the environmental challenges we face and the power of practical solutions,” said Jennifer Lawson, President and CEO of Keep America Beautiful. “His leadership in sustainable packaging and his ability to connect business goals with environmental stewardship will strengthen our work to reduce waste and inspire action in communities nationwide.”

Leading with Purpose

As the third-generation leader of Atlantic Packaging, one of the largest privately owned industrial packaging companies in North America, Carter has made sustainability central to the company’s mission.
• He spearheads A New Earth Project, Atlantic’s platform dedicated to helping brands transition away from problematic packaging.
• He serves on boards including The Conservation Alliance, WildAid, and the South Carolina Conservation Bank, and advises on packaging reform through California’s SB-54 Advisory Board.

Environmentally Responsible Business

“I’ve dedicated my career to proving that business success and environmental responsibility can, and must, go hand in hand,” said Wes. “Keep America Beautiful plays a vital role in bringing that vision to life at the industry and community level. From reducing waste to innovating sustainable packaging, the challenges we face are urgent, but so are the opportunities. I’m honored to join the board and eager to help accelerate solutions that protect our neighborhoods, our waterways, and our wild places for today and all future generations.”
