At Atlantic Packaging, we believe business should serve the greater good. That’s why our 2024–25 Healthy People, Healthy Planet Report brings together the progress we’re making on environmental impact and the holistic wellbeing of our people. This year’s report is also prepared in alignment with the GRI 2021 Universal Standards, strengthening transparency for customers and partners who rely on credible, comparable disclosures.

Some highlights from our work this year:

  • Product Spotlight: Sway — See how seaweed‑based Sway Poly Bags showcase next‑generation materials that can scale within today’s infrastructure, pointing to a future with fewer fossil‑based plastics.
  • Customer stories that scale impact
    • The Caviar Co.: a cold‑chain redesign centered on a compostable Cruz Foam cooler and recyclable paper components to reduce single‑use plastic without compromising performance.
    • Ibis Cycles: a petroleum‑plastic‑free, curbside‑recyclable bike‑pack kit that protects parts, speeds assembly, and eliminates mixed‑material waste using a paper‑based system and FibreStrap.
  • Aligned to GRI — For the first time, the report maps to GRI 1/2/3 plus topic‑specific disclosures and includes a GRI/SDG Content Index in the appendix.
  • Expanded mental‑health resources — We’ve broadened access to free coaching, counseling, and webinars, making it easier for employees and families to get timely support.
  • Preventive care participation — 72% of employees on our Medical Incentive Program completed preventive care activities—evidence that when we make prevention simple and affordable, participation follows.
  • Nature Connected Workplace (five‑year plan) — We kicked off a multi‑year approach to integrate nature, biodiversity, and green spaces at every facility—because proximity to nature supports mental health and helps our teams thrive.
  • Nature‑inspired art & murals — From photography installations to floor‑scale murals in production environments, we’re bringing restorative nature imagery into our spaces where windows aren’t practical.
  • Founding Member: Nature at Work — We’re helping shape the future of nature‑based wellness at work, advancing environments that support focus, recovery, and belonging.

Why it matters

Packaging connects human health and planetary health. Scaling low‑impact materials, designing for circularity, and caring for our teams are mutually reinforcing, and they’re how we’ll reduce emissions, eliminate waste, and build more resilient communities. This report captures real progress, practical playbooks, and the partnerships that make change durable, from material innovation to wellbeing resources that people actually use.
