At Atlantic Packaging, we know that our impact isn’t confined to our own four walls. Our journey toward environmental sustainability cannot be separated from our journey toward health – both planetary and human. That’s why our 2025-2026 Healthy People, Healthy Planet Report showcases the goals and progress that we’re making on our environmental impact and the holistic wellbeing of our people. Through this report, our customers and stakeholders can get a glimpse into the initiatives that Atlantic is taking to bridge the gap between personal health, the health of our communities and businesses, and the health of our shared, natural ecosystems.

Some highlights from our work this year:

  • Product Spotlight: Canopy™ – See how a paper-based, curbside-recyclable alternative to shrink bundling film can reduce virgin plastic use, increase energy efficiency, and eliminate unnecessary packaging components.
  • Customer stories that scale impact –
    • Dr. Bronner’s: Collaboration between Atlantic Packaging and Dr. Bronner’s led to a packaging portfolio incorporating curbside recyclable, compostable, post-consumer recycled (PCR), and post-industrial recycled (PIR) materials.
    • YETI: See how YETI’s partnership with Atlantic Packaging and A New Earth Project led to the development of packaging that was functional, visually appealing, and environmentally responsible.
  • LoadLogic: A new feature on Atlantic’s LoadLogic system, which takes height and weight snapshots of every pallet entering the stretch wrapper, and automatically selects from nine customized and pre-programmed settings to ensure that the optimal amount of stretch film is applied.
  • Nature Connected Workplace: In 2026, our Charlotte, NC facility added a raised bed garden and partnered with the NC Wildlife Federation, becoming an official stop on the Butterfly Highway. The garden gives employees the chance to grow fresh produce, learn sustainable gardening practices, and strengthen community bonds. We’re just getting started! We plan to add pollinator gardens and similar green spaces to more locations in the years ahead.
  • Preventive Care Participation: 74% of employees on our Medical Incentive Program collectively completed a total of 3,373 preventive care activities, showing that when we make prevention simple and affordable, participation follows.
  • Success in Safety: Our distribution locations had their best safety year yet, as injury rates dropped to their lowest levels in six years, and we saw zero missed-work injuries all year. This comes as a result of Atlantic doubling down on safety training, building a stronger safety-first culture among our teams, and encouraging everyone to speak up early about hazards or near-misses before they become real problems.

Why it matters

Packaging plays an essential role in building a circular economy and emphasizing the interconnection between human and planetary health. Scaling sustainable materials, investing in circular systems, and caring for the health of our people are integral parts of our strategies for reducing emissions, eliminating waste, and building resilient communities. Atlantic is excited to share this report with our customers, suppliers, and partners as proof of our commitment to be leaders in health and well-being.
