Atlantic Packaging is proud to share that our MUST™ Stretch Film Management Program and longtime customer Coca-Cola Consolidated were featured as the lead story on the homepage of Packaging World. The article highlights how Coca-Cola Consolidated uses Atlantic’s IoT-enabled monitoring platform to optimize stretch wrapping performance across more than 70 automatic wrappers and over 6 million loads annually.
The results speak for themselves:
- 20% reduction in stretch film costs
- 30% reduction in film usage
- Film break rates reduced to approximately 2%
- Real-time monitoring and AI-powered insights that help identify equipment issues before they become costly problems
For nearly a decade, the MUST program has helped Coca-Cola Consolidated standardize stretch wrapping performance across its network, ensuring every load receives the right amount of film to maximize containment while minimizing material use. The system combines data collection, analytics, and expert support to maintain optimized wrapping standards and prevent the gradual drift that often occurs over time.
The partnership also demonstrates how source reduction can drive meaningful sustainability outcomes. By reducing stretch film consumption while maintaining load integrity, Coca-Cola Consolidated has significantly lowered material usage and created opportunities to support circular solutions, including stretch film recycling initiatives.
Atlantic has continued to evolve MUST through new hardware, enhanced analytics, and the integration of artificial intelligence. Updated sensors and cloud-based monitoring provide deeper insights into wrapper performance, while AI-powered health scoring helps identify emerging issues and recommend corrective actions before they impact production.
For operations teams, that means less guesswork, more visibility, and better control over one of the most frequently used packaging materials in the facility.
We’re grateful to Coca-Cola Consolidated for their continued partnership and to Packaging World for highlighting the impact of data-driven packaging optimization.
